Overview:

The Region Chief Financial Officer for CommonSpirit Health, Mountain Region, is responsibile for the overall management of finance Including: patient financial services, short and long-term financial planning, corporate diversification, capital and operational budgeting, capital accumulation, revenue generation, expense management, financial analysis and operations, and information systems.The incumbent has overall responsibility for the recommendation of financial policies and the development of relevant operation procedures.

Key duties will also include:

  • Directs preparation of monthly financial reporting, assisting in evaluation of these reports

  • Leads annual budgeting processes including compilation of facility forecasts and capital plans

  • Ensures appropriate support and data is provided in development of business plans

  • Holds veto/approval responsibility of local business plans

  • Provides financial leadership on market-based transactions, including physician practice acquisitions and ambulatory development

  • Serves as primary interface between region and CSH finance functions, including accounting, managed care accounts payable, payroll, reimbursement, etc.

  • Supervises revenue cycle function in Mountain region

  • Participates on CSH Finance task forces and committees

  • Advises Region President and other senior leaders on financial implications and risks

  • Aligns organization and region goals and metrics and leads region entities in collaboration

  • Stays abreast of current information, future policies, practices and trends that can affect CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration from an accredited university with an emphasis in accounting, finance or a related field. as well as certification as a CPA, CMA or Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience as a CFO in multi-facility healthcare organization with a minimum of three years in hospital budgeting and financial analysis experience or a comparable combination of education and experience

  • Principles of financial analysis and testing; accounting concepts and principles; principles and practices of hospital financial management; budgeting, management reporting and financial statement preparation; productivity management systems; development and presentation of business plans; healthcare reimbursement mechanisms; Federal, state and local regulations; healthcare industry trends; financial analysis techniques; effective management and communication skills; personal computer based spreadsheet and word programs; and knowledge of hospital based information systems and programs

  • Training and working knowledge in legal and tax considerations, compliance reporting requirements, finance, budget development and administration, and financial analysis.; computer applications and information technology

Preferred qualfications:

  • Experience in preparing and/or reviewing hospital contractuals, Cost Reports, Medicare &/or Medicaid Disproportionate Share calculations, and OSHPD Reports

  • Membership in the Hospital Financial Management Association

$337,900 - $473,059/annually
